I have been cleaning ALL day - literally 10 a.m.-6 p.m. It's been horrendous. I feel very sad about it.
So, instead of posting a card (as I've not had time to make one), I thought I'd post a list of my FAVOURITE crafting supplies, and ask you what yours are.
And, the good news, I will award a prize for the most interesting comment. I had a giveaway a week ago but the winner never claimed her prize. So I have goodies up for grabs.
My Favourite things:
2. My sewing machine
3. My thread. I think I over-use it.
4. Hero Arts Notecards - current favourite: Spring mix.
5. Kraft paper - any kind.
6. The GORGEOUS Cosmo Cricket mini decks.
Leave me a comment by Thursday 3rd September, telling me your favourite crafting supplies, and I will award the prize to the person who convinces me to buy their favourite thing :)
Bye for now. X
My favorite supplies are: Kraft cardstock, my MM ruler with piercing holes in them, my trusty old pair of scissors and my bone folder. Nothing special really but I need them all the time.
ReplyDeleteEveline.
Hi Lucy, my fav things are Hero art heart winged butterfly (1st spotted on your blog), my new sewing machine (from when you showed us some cute stitches), Bazzill cardstock (but Kraft at the moment), Distress inks in all colours, and buttons tied on with cord (again blaming you).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration but stop making me spend money :)
Sue from Durham
Sorry you had to clean all day. I miss the eye candy. I can't make cards without my exacto knife and quilters rulers. In 17 years of making cards, I haven't met a papercutter that cuts as straight. Must have my Memory Tape Runner. Have used many over the years and I like this one best. Any and all Nestabilities are fabulous. And currently, I must have lots and lots of buttons.
ReplyDeleteI hate cleaning, but love the house afterwards! My favorite crafting supplies are quite varied: My sewing machine (I once thought I would grab it 1st if the house was burning!); my prisma color pencils; my crochet needles, now that I can use them; I carry my stampin up catalog around like a security blanket & I love all of my rubber stamps. Thanks for sharing your favorites.
ReplyDeleteI love my clear ruler so I can see thru to the paper below, my scallop border bunch, kraft paper, my ribbon pile and lately...my 5 year old daughter. She is loving being a part of a crafty card day with her Mama. She loves to watch Hero Arts videos and she cracks me up when she uses her extensive knowledge to describe corner rounders, embossing powder, heat guns, stamping techniques etc.
ReplyDeleteYou have my sympathy with the cleaning malarky - that's my job for tomorrow :( My favourite crafty products at the moment are:
ReplyDeletePapertrey Ink raspberry fizz saddle stitch grosgrain ribbon - I am in love with this colour and the ribbon ties into great knots :)
Buttons, especially those with 4 holes
Goggle eyes - they make me smile
Martha Stewart edge punches - I have no idea how I lived so long without them!
Have fun crafting now that your house is clean and tidy
No need to buy this one: just run to your kitchen, find your cutlery drawer, select a knife and run along the cardstock edges. Easy Peasy cardstock distressing and better yet, it doesnt cost a cent
ReplyDeleteI love my Ranger Inkssentials white opaque gel pen so much right. When you can't sew you've gotta faux! :)
ReplyDeleteHi ya Lucy :D, At the moment my favourite things are Dots & flowers BG stamp(Hero Arts), Heartwing Butterfly (Hero Arts), my small paper cutting scissors, Tim Holtz distress inks & applicators. Lastly my Ranger mini misters, re-inkers & perfect pearls. I have been making my own "coloured" papers with them & having a blast.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... let's see...
ReplyDelete1. Embossing Heat Tool (I love to emboss!)
2. Memento Ink (Black Tuxedo in particular for drawing with Copics)
3. Offray's Black/White Side-Saddle Ribbon (I use a LOT of this particular ribbon in many of my cards!)
4. Sakura White Gel pen (okay, okay so Kristina Werner has me hooked on faux stitching!)
5. UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel -- This is my new favourite item -- I can't believe I've lived without it so long!!!
6. How can I forget one of my absolute favourite stamps? Hero Arts' Heart-Winged Stamp of course!
I have two faves at the moment:
ReplyDeleteFirst, I became a kit club member in June of Studio Calico. Love my kits- it doesn't dissapoint! I find myself waiting for the UPS man the first of the month!
Second, my Xyron "create a sticker" mini machine. I love this because it easily adheres small or skinny embellies and ribbon or rick-rack without any fuss at all! I love it! And it's very inexpensive!
Lucy, I spent most of my day cleaning as well. I'm tuckered!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite supplies are my Scotch ATG tape gun, Tim Holtz Design Ruler, Cutter Bee scissors, Memories black dye ink, my Sakura Stardust pens (I seem to like just a little shimmer on my cards lately) and all my Tim Holtz Distress Inks.
Stampin Sue

ReplyDeleteMy favs are (i've limited myself to the top 5 otherwise I could go on and on):
1. Paper Tray Inc- their stamps, cardstock, ribbion, buttons, everything (for a price which makes me wonder about the mark-ups on other brands). AND they ship overseas a lot cheaper then other places! Great value and quality.
2. Kraft Cardstock- just like everyone else in the world, its like the LBD of crafting. classic and always makes you feel good.
3. Clear embossing powder. Great for a quick tone on tone look without needing 100's of inks.
3. Anything by Sassafrass Lass.
4. Two Peas in a Bucket- for great prices (except the overseas shipping $$$), but also the ideas from the talented GG and the members. So glad I stumbled onto this site.
5. The beautiful Australian coast line. Which inspires me everyday. Can't beat driving home, reaching the crest of my hill and seeing the ocean!
Hi Lucy! Just so you know, you weren't cleaning alone! I was cleaning up, too, an ocean away! No cards from me today, too. Maybe tomorrow??
ReplyDeleteMy very favorite can't-live-without-it craft product is Kokuyo Permanent Dot Roller. I love it so much, I buy the refills by the case! That and Hero's kraft notecards are always within reach. Thanks for asking!
Apart from the "MOST IMPORTANT" adhesives..
ReplyDeletemy all time fave crafting supplies are FLOWERS.. all kinds.. any kinds..
.. they help me to fill up just about any space left blank on my cards.. where i dunno wat to do..
I too had to do the back to school cleaning thing and hated!
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else I have my crafting staples and I won't bore you with them. My new favorite must have item is Perfect Pearls. This stuff is awesome especially when used with the Distress Inks. I watched Jennifer McGuire's Thinking Inking series at Two Peas after I had purchased the product and got even more great ideas on how to use it with my stamping projects. It adds just a little shimmer to small areas or you can go all out and make backgrounds or use it on flowers and other embellishments. This product is so versatile and works beautifully on dark paper. It comes in gorgeous colors. I think I am gushing. Have I convinced you yet? Anyway, I hope you will give it a try if you haven't already.

My favourite tool is my tiny scissors that has a non stick coating on the blades (think I got them in France!)great for cutting anything sticky. Fantastic investment.

ReplyDeleteMy favs are: Cuttlebug embossing folders, regular old scissors, tape runner, the Slice and BG 6x6 paper packs. Hope you get to create soon!
Kraft cardstock IS amazing! I use it way too much! And threads as well. I like to have plain crochet thread or string and use distress inks to changed the color or darken it. It works really great! It's neat you live in England. I've always wanted to go there! Thanks again for the give-a-way!

Hi Lucy!
ReplyDeleteI love picking up new stuff for stamping/cardmaking! So addicting! But if I had to choose...
- HA Heart Winged Butterfly
- Tim Holtz Distress inks and shipping tags - to make wonderful little taggies
- Basic Grey paper ... so lovely!
- Pearls and Gems (and I've just discovered how easy they are to colour with Sharpie markers...fun!)
- and something I'm excited for ('cuz I just placed an order) ... organza dot ribbon from www.reasonableribbon.com (a la Jen Biederman ... always love her ribbon!) it was super cheap, and so was the shipping!
Thanks for the chance to win :)
Amie
the best thing that I every bought was my scorpal and the mat, then using my cuttlebees to cut and paper pierce holes has to be a great way to have straight lines without all of the effort, ranger prodructs, and paper...card stock or patterned...I love it all, pens of any sort though I love when they are brush tipped as you can do so much with them...
ReplyDeleteI have lots of favorite products, most of my stamping gear is either Hero Arts or Stampin Up... and I HATE cleaning too, just like you. I think that you should SO buy yourself a Stampin Scrub from Stampin Up - its this nifty little thing that folds open, and you squirt stamp cleaner on one half and rub your stamp in it, then rub your stamp in the other half to dry it... TOO EASY!!! Seriously, YOU NEED ONE! I keep mine on my desk, it doesn't take up much space, and it does a great job. Go on, go buy one.... NOW!
ReplyDeleteHi Lucy, My fave craft supplies at the moment (in no particular order) are good white cardstock - so many ways to use it, my beloved stamps, Stampin' Up!'s paper piercer set (love the little template so that my holes are straight), ribbon, ribbon and more ribbon, and finally, my self healing craft mat and exacto knife.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite supplies at the moment are my scissors, Tombow glue, (the scissors & glue pretty much a must for all my projects), prismacolor pencils, stickles, and liquid pearl. Then again, I don't think I can create without ALL my stuff. LOL, being surrounded by my craft stuff is part of my creative process.
ReplyDeleteOh Lucy it's so hard to choose my favourite supplies but these are some of the ones I love:-
ReplyDelete- Cuttlebug - only a few months old but used so much
- Embossing powders and heat gun
- Sewing machine
- Fabric scraps left over from my quilting
- A small curved nail scissors I bought in Boots - it's great for cutting around curves
- My fingernails - for distressing, picking threads to fray fabric and picking up and placing fiddly gems and beads!
You must have cleaned everything in the house so hopefully you have lots of time for crafting now!
My favourite thing this week (LOL) is my craft sheet - you know the one that you use under your work that can be wiped off. Having never used one before, I amazed at how stuff just wipes off and I am using less paper under my work - which I know is better for the environment too. Such a little thing but it was been so much fun to mix inks, blend marker colours and then just wipe away!!

Like all of the other ladies I have numerous favorites ranging from distress inks and Hero Arts stamps to Martha Stewart punches and Cosmo Cricket anythin. But one tool that goes to every crop is my Basic Grey rub-on tool. No more popsicle sticks for me. This tool makes adding rub-ons to a card or layout so simple and the rub-ons gon on perfectly every time! Hope you get one if you don't already have one.
ReplyDeleteHi! I am new to your blog and LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite supplies right now (in no particular order...)
Paper Trey Ink stamps, buttons & ribbon! Fabulous designs and colors.
Thickers by American Crafts...so many different fonts, colors and
textures...there's one that's perfect for any project!
Stampin UP Cardstock! Love how easy it is to coordinate colors for those of us who are challenged in that regard!!
Any product that helps me stay organized!
I have a new favorite. I like my cards on the subtle side of glam. I love it when there is just a hint of glitter that acts like a highlight - almost like when someone is wearing a beautiful scent that makes you want to step closer so you can get a second whiff! The shopkeeper at my favorite local stamp shop just introduced me to the perfect tool to apply glitter just the way I like it. It is the "Quickie Glue" pinpoint roller pen by SAKURA. It is perfect for the job. By the way, my favorite glitter is Dazzling Diamonds by Stampin Up. Love your blog, Lucy. Your cards are such a source of inspiration for me :-) --Marsha
