Monkey Monkey

Hello.
Sorry it's been a while - been a bit crazy here.  I've not been 100%.
But here is a fun card I made a little while ago using another of THESE fab chipboard animals and THESE alphas. I love this cute monkey.
Hope your week has been good so far.

Sew Special

Ok so I couldn't resist making a card with this new Hero Arts digikit: 'Sew Crafty'. I love it.  The background paper is from THIS yummy digikit by Vinnie Pearce.  She really is amazing.
Oh and it reminds me to remind YOU to enter my current challenge - stitching.  Click here for details.  You have a few more days to enter. :)
Have a happy Monday.

Animal Fun

Just playing with a few new digikits... and having a lot of FUN.
I adore anything with animals on, so Wild Things, the new digikit by Jen Martakis, called out to me.  How adorable are these images.  And there's a GORGEOUS flamingo in there to that I have ideas for...
I just played in Word with these - adding a typed sentiment to each.
This one is for my brother:
And this CUTE flower is from THIS adorable kit by Holly Brooke Jones.  I love anything with smiley faces :)  The background paper comes from THIS kit, also by Holly.  She's amazing.
I debated for AGES about whether to add a sentiment, then I decided that I'm going to build up a pile of blank cards so I can add the appropriate sentiment when I need the card. :)
Hope you have a wonderful, peaceful Sunday. x

What's Up Doc?

I've been wanting to make a card with this bunny wabbit for ages.  And the sentiment was just a bit of fun. Am I breaking any trademark laws??
This is for the Moxie Fab World sketch challenge.  Here is the sketch:
Have a fabulous weekend.

Beeeeee Happy

So I got some new products this week. :)
(Always love playing with new products.)
THIS die cut sheet by Doodlebug Designs is just so gorgeous, and while I was messing around with it, I realised it was the perfect match for Embellish Magazine's current call - turquoise, yellow, pink and black. So I grabbed some new fabric thickers (LOVE them), decorated a button with glitter and threw it all on a card.  I really enjoyed making this card.  And it's dedicated to the lovely, talented Jennifer McGuire who's had a horrid few days.  Love to you Jennifer. xxx
Have a happy day. :)

Glittery Butterfly

Sorry I've not posted for a few days.  The weather's been great - so I've taken up a permanent residence outside. :)  Crafting time has been drastically cut down by the SUNSHINE and flowers in my new garden.  HOORAY.  And we're growing loads of fruit and veggies too. So happy to spend time out there.
Anyway - it's new challenge time over at Caardvarks.  And another super sponsor.  Core'dinations make the best cardstock - I love it.  And for this challenge they sent us their new collection Ebony and Ivory.  The colours are delicious.  So the challenge at Caardvarks is to create a monochromatic card.  Here is mine.
I have a new addiction...thickers.  I am quite literally dreaming about them. I love them... and I want them all. :)  Here I've used THESE ones.  Delicious.  The butterfly is from THIS Hero Arts digikit.  Warning, lots more thicker cards to come this week :)
Click HERE to check out the challenge and good luck - there is an AWESOME prize up for grabs.

Happy Birthday Friend

I wanted to try out some tone on tone staping using the new Hero Hues range of products.  I chose the Punch Layering Paper and Chalk Ink and decided to make this simple birthday card using THIS gorgeous stamp.  The sentiment is from THIS set.  (Oh and TwoPeas is having a huge Hero Arts sale - click HERE to see)
Hooray for Fridays.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

New Home Congratulations

I'm so happy that I have a new video on the Hero Arts blog today.  This one's all about printing with digital images.  I love all the polka dots from THIS digikit - one of my all time faves - and the Clear Design Mi Casa set is perfect for new home cards, I adore that little house and tree. :)
I also used this kit: Papers in Hero Arts Colours.  And they do a Hero Hues version too.  Love it.
Check out the video for some digi tips. :)
Happy Wednesday :)

Love

I love the shabby style of card making.  It matches my ideal design style perfectly.  But boy is it hard to achieve.  For some reason, lace and me just don't work.  And I find it so hard to avoid straight lines, right angles, clean cuts... what does that say about me.
But today I tried.
Sadly, I ended up with a straight edged, right angled card.
The thought was there.
I used THIS gorgeous Prima cardstock, it's double sided and I used both sides.  And I used THIS yummy stamp, my new favourite.
Hope you've had a good Monday - teaching was fun today. :)

Live, Laugh, Love

Vinnie Pearce released her new digikit this month at 2Peas, and it's gorgeous.  'Live, Laugh, Love' has lots of beautiful elements, including this lovely flower.  I just duplicated the image in Word, and laid it over some of the kit's patterned paper.
The sentiment is from THIS Hero Arts set - so useful.
Have a happy Saturday.  I love weekends.... although I am back to school on Monday. :(

Pink, aqua and kraft...

...is my favourite colour scheme.  So I had to make another card for Embellish Magazine's current challenge.  For this card, I created a fabric flower using THIS amazing tutorial by the wonderful Betsy Veldman.  I just ADORE her style... I so wish I had the talent to create like her.  Sigh.
The Flower Wallpaper stamp is one of my favourite cling stamps.  I love it tone on tone... especially in pink. :)
I've never made a card with fabric before.  Love learning new things. :)

The Best Days of Our Life

Michelle Underwood's new digikit 'The Best Days of Our Life' is just my style.  I love it!!!  Look at these cuuuuute little critters.

The papers are all from this pat of the kit, and the stamps are from THIS, THIS and THIS set.  And of course, lots of goggly eyes.  Love 'em.
Have a happy Wednesday, it's sunny here and I've been gardening.  Bring on the Summer.

Vintage Butterfly

HERE is another of my favourite new Hero Arts stamps French Writing with Butterfly.  I'm really loving the woodblocks at the moment...
I combined this stamp with some digital paper from THIS kit by Betsy Tuma.  So many pretty patterns.  I just recoloured this polka paper to match my preferred colour scheme.
Lots of glossy accents on the butterfly... yum.
Thought I'd enter this into the Everything But the Kitchen Sink challenge - to use string.  I love string...
Have a great Tuesday.
P.S. Hope you've seen my current challenge, and hope you get a chance to enter.

One stamp, three cards: Day 3

Take one gorgeous Hero Arts stamp, Dogwood, and make three cards for three different purposes using very different colours.
Day 3 - Yellow!
Hmmmm.  I am not a yellow fan, but I adore primroses, and wanted to create a primrose effect... I still wonder if it is too yellowy.
Supplies: Stamps and pearls - Hero Arts; PP - My Mind's Eye; Copics; Coloured Pencils.
The sentiment is from THIS set, and I used paper by My Mind's Eye.
I hope you enjoyed this idea - I think I'll try it again with another stamp soon.  Any requests???
Happy Easter to you all.
