Along came a spider...

Ok, so I hate Halloween. Sorry, but it's the truth.  Like many, many Brits, my mother was dead against the whole trick-or-treating thing, so I've never been.  So come October 31st, I usually switch off all the lights in the house and hide in the back room...

BUT... I really love the cute little stamps in THIS Halloween set!  

Dilemma.

So I decided to get it, and try to use the stamps on non-Halloween cards instead.

Here is my first attempt :)

Birthday Cupcake

So tomorrow is my friend Fran's birthday, and I made her a really girly card.  :)

Love this chipboard cupcake (from THIS set, my current favourite product).

I also used My Mind's Eye patterned paper, gorgeous rustic Papertrey cardstock (HERE), THESE Thickers, THIS sentiment stamp and more delicious May Arts ribbon from The Ribbon Girl.  Love this ribbon.

Crackly Butterfly

I've been wanting to play with Crackle Accents since I saw THIS masterpiece over at the Hero Arts Flickr group.  How beautiful are those butterflies.

So I took my butterfly (from THIS set), crackled it up and had some fun! Love the results.

The sentiment on this card is from a set by UK company: Personal Impressions - I love THIS stamp set, lots of mixed font sentiments - my FAVOURITE things at the moment.

The playing card is from THIS gorgeous digikit, and the patterned paper is Papertrey Ink (here).

Finally, I added some yummy May Arts ribbon from The Ribbon Girl.

The Apple of my Eye

So Vinnie Pearce has released a new digikit: The Apple of my Eye.  It's another gorgeous one.

I kept my card really simple, to focus on the beautful paper from THIS part of the kit.

I added the butterflies (HERE) and sentiment (HERE), printed it out, stitched the edges and then inked with Pumice Stone distress ink.

Pretty Poinsettia

So it seems that pink Christmas cards are now my thing :)

I adore THIS beautiful poinsettia digital stamp from Jane's Doodles. So elegant.

I printed it twice onto digi paper from THIS kit, cut it out and inked the ends with Fired Brick distress ink.  The yummy music paper is THIS one, and the sentiment is from THIS wood set.  LOVE the mixed fonts.

Pink Christmas

So I wouldn't normally use pink for Christmas, but I quite like the result. 

And besides, I wanted to use this yummy ribbon I got in America.  :)
This card is my final Caardvarks DT card for the current challenge.

Oh, and THIS pink patterned paper is delicious.

Colourful Christmas

In my card, I used new Hero stamps and lots of yummy ink.  

The stamps are both from THIS set and the inks and pearls are Hero Hues.  LOVE the vibrancy.

thinking of you...

I made this card a while ago, but haven't shared it yet.  Just enjoying some Hero Arts stamps and products.  I used Hero Arts Three Floral Frames,  Old French Writing  and Just Find Me as well as Poppy Layering Paper, Poppy Ink and Scattered Straw distress ink.  All the rest of the products are from Papertrey Ink. Yum.

SO SO SO happy it's the weekend.

Hugs and Kisses

I really love my Thickers. So I wanted to make a card where the Thickers were the main focus.

Similarly, I just adore this sentiment stamp from THIS Hero Arts digikit.  This is one of my favourite kits - in fact, I think I've used ALL the sentiments in it, and that doesn't often happen.

So in this card, I combined the two...

Simple, simple, simple.

I'm just loving CAS at the moment (had you noticed???) :)

Thank You Tree

I thought this simple hybrid card might be a good Thank You for a teacher. :)  I used THIS digikit, THESE yummy pearls and delicious silk ribbon. VERY sad to hear Creative Impressions are not going to make this silk ribbon any more :*(
(that's me crying).

P.S. I just ate a cookie the size of my head.

Ladybirds and ladybirds and MORE ladybirds

Although my blog is called Hedgehogs and Ladybirds, I don't seem to use many of them on my cards.

So here is a card that uses my quota of ladybirds for this year!

Seriously... this card took time.  A LOT of time.  I'm not sure quite what came over me.

It took long enough to create the digital file (using the lil bug from THIS digikit).

Then adding the Glossy Accents... Then cutting them all out... Then paper piecing.  The stickers are THESE ones. Love 'em.

And finally, who else has a cat that loves boxes.  Seriously, my cat has the WHOLE garden to sit in, loads of lovely sunny spots, and he chooses to sit here!

I used the cute chick from Hero Arts 'Sweet Girl' digikit, and paper pieced with paper from THIS kit. :) Very very very clean and simple!

Helicopter + Hearts =

I made this card for fun, using Hero Arts Kiddie Conveyance digikit - it's so CUTE.  I had this plan as soon as I saw the kit :)  I thought it would make a sweet card for a little boy (or my husband!).

And because I know someone will ask, the font is called Justy and is free to download HERE.

The sweet heart paper is from THIS digikit, and I added lots of Stickles to the heart. :)

Tea-riffic

Just love THIS digikit.  And especially this CUTE teabag.  I am a tea addict, so this image stood out to me :)  Such fun.  I added a typed sentiment and kept it REALLY clean and simple - just a little paper piecing and stitching.
