Sketch Week - Day 1

This time last year I had a week of sketch challenges on my blog... and as people seemed to enjoy it, I thought I'd do it again. :)  For all the cards for the week, I have used the same products... Studio Calico paperchipboard butterflies and rub-ons.  And some Basic Grey alphabet stickers.
So for each sketch I have created a card, and I challenge YOU to create something too, and link me to it using the inlinkz tool below.  I'd love to see what you come up with.  And there may even be a prize...  Upload your card by midnight on Sunday 8th January.
So, on to sketch number 1:

Happy Christmas

Hello and Happy Christmas.  I hope you had a fabulous time.  I certainly did.  Surrounded by family... it was perfect.
Just thought I'd share a couple of photos of Lily in her "Santa Baby" outfit. She looked so sweet. :)

Red Blooms

Hi everyone: I have had this post scheduled for a while... so before you all think I'm back in the studio already, I am not!!!   I am enjoying snuggling with my little one too much at the moment. :)
But because I love The Ribbon Girl, I made this card before Lily's arrival so I didn't miss the challenge.  Hope you play along...
On to the scheduled post:
It's time for a new Ribbon Girl colour challenge, and this month the colours are red, cream and black. Yum.
My card is made using Hero Arts gorgeous Dogwood stamp.  Love this stamp. I simply stamped it onto some lovely patterned paper, then again onto red cardstock and paper pieced.  I added some red seam binding and button twine, and some pretty pearly buttons, then rounded the corners to finish.  A very simple card. Sometimes simple stamping is so pretty. :)

Hope you get a chance to enter the challenge - there'll be a fab prize as always!
Have a great day.

Lily Loves Hero Arts

Lily just can't quite decide whether she wants the new Newspaper Owl or Big Eyes Owl stamp the most!

Hope you are all well.  Lily and I are doing brilliantly.

Last few Christmas Cards... and a baby photo. :)

Hello...
Just popping in while my baby sleeps to say hi, share the last of my Christmas cards for this year, and a photo of the new arrival to my family - little Lily.
Things are likely to be a little busy for me for the next few weeks - and I am addicted to cuddling my little one, so I'm unlikely to make any cards or blog much... but I promise I'll be back.
So first, a few cards made using this week's Hero Arts digikit releases.
First, the Cozy Treats kit.  Adorable!!!

And next, a trio of cards made using Tree-Mendous. I thought it would be fun to make some shaped cards.

And finally, my little Lily Francesca Beel.  Beel is my married name if you were wondering why she is not an Abrams. :)
Baby Beel
Hope to be back soon, but until then, be happy and enjoy the run up to Christmas. I love this time of year. :)
And thank you for all the wonderful well wishes - you are all so kind.

Simple One Layer Snowman Card

If you're worried about postage costs with your Christmas cards, hybrid cards could be an option.  On this simple card, I used the new Fancy Snowflake Digikit to create a snowy background for my snowman.  I just resized it and layered it over some pale blue digi paper.  The I just layered over the snowman and the snowy base, both from the Winterize digikit,  and the sentiment which is taken from the new Festive Borders kit.  After printing, I coloured the scarf and hat for extra brightness and added some simple black stitching for a little texture.  Such a simple and totally flat card, easy to mass produce too.

Hope you enjoy your weekend.  See you soon.
