Single Layer Hybrid Cards - Day 1

Hello and welcome to my single layer hybrid cards week.  I have some cards to share which were all created entirely in Word, then printed onto white cardstock.
I'll share the process each day too...
So for today, I have a mini notecard crated using paper and journaling spot from Lori Whitlock's Spring Celebrations digikit.  Isn't it adorable. I imported the paper into Word and formatted it so it was 'Behind Text'. I cropped it to make it square. Then I imported the journaling spot and owl image and layered them both on top of the paper. Next, I imported the sentiment which is from THIS digikit, and layered it on top of the journaling spot. Finally, I added the faux stitching from THIS digikit. I had to recolour it to white first of all, then copied and pasted 3 times so I had 4 lines of stitching in total. I had to rotate 2 of them for the top and bottom of the card. (For more info on these processes, see my Digi Tips week HERE).
And here is the finished card...

It was pretty tough not adding embellishments after printing, but I like the clean effect of single layer cards.
Back soon with Day 2. :)
