Today Simon Says Stamp release their Valentine's line - and it's FABULOUS!!! So many amazing products to choose from…
Valentine's Day is my favourite card making event. So I am always happy to see lovey-dovey products. I am all about the pink hearts. :)
So my first card features the new Repeated Heart Stencil. And I played with my first ever Embossing Paste too!! I cut the stencil up and adhered it to a piece of SSS's new Khaki Cardstock (think this might just be my new favourite colour of card stock!!!) which I had die cut with one of the new Postage Stamp Edge Frames dies. Isn't this die FAB - makes a perfect card front, and this isn't even the largest one in the set. Then I added the paste with a knife. It's so much easier than I thought it would be - if you've not already tried it - I recommend it. (Thanks to the AMAZING Debby Hughes for the email tutorial and continual enabling!!)
Next, I die cut the gorgeous Big Love You sentiment from Sea Glass Cardstock (another must have colour) and again three times from white. I layered them up to create a thick chipboard effect.
Finally, I spritzed the whole thing with a LOT of Calico Shine Mister Huey's. It shimmers!!
Look at the detail this paste gives… it's FAB. Even my husband was impressed (and that's saying something). I think stencils might be my new favourite toy. :)
My next card also features Embossing Paste, this time with the cute Falling Stars Stencil. LOVE this one. I added my stars to more of the yummy Sea Glass Cardstock, then when it was dry, I added Star Dust Stickles to each star for a bit of sparkle.
I die cut the new Big Thanks (LOVE it…) from cream and white card stock, and adhered them together only in the centre so I could twist it a bit to create this shadowy effect. Something a bit different…
I can see this stencil being a very useful one - it works for so many different themed cards… new baby, graduation, congratulations, birthday… anything really. Love it.
