Congratulations

Hello!
Today I have a very feminine congratulations card to share with you. I am not sure what I would give it for… maybe an engagement (cards are for the girls really, right? Let's be honest, most men don't give cards much thought… hence my lack of Mother's Day card last weekend. My husband actually said: "I didn't think you'd be bothered about getting a card". Huh!)
Anyway - my card is created with some lovely Simon Says Stamp products, along with some patterned paper from My Mind's Eye's Heirloom collection.
To make the card, I first smeared Translucent Embossing Paste onto a portion of Simon Says Stamp's Repeated Hearts Stencil which was taped onto some of their delicious Cotton Candy Cardstock. After it was dry, I stitched the ends of the panel, then adhered it to a rustic cream card base. The sentiment is from one of their older sets - Banner Sayings (it's one of my faves). I had to do a bit of masking to get just the Congrats word.
Next, I spritzed the whole thing with Calico Shine Mister Huey's.
Finally, I did cut the Paulina Butterfly from two different patterned papers, stitched them together at a slight angle, and added them to the card.

The combination of the shiny paste and mists is lovely.

Right - that's all for today.
Bye for now.

I agree. The cards are always for the girls more than the guys. Hope your husband remembers mother's day next year...! :)
