You know, I do not think there is enough blue in the scrapbooking / cardnmaking world. Yes, there's loads of almost blue - turquoise, duck egg, aqua, teal etc. but very little proper blue. I'm talking rich cornflower blue. Yum. So when I stumbled upon this gorgeous picture on Pinterest (follow my colour inspiration board here) I was inspired.
Today's card is on the Hero Arts blog, and features one of their digital cut files for the Silhouette - the Striped Flower. I cut three different size flowers from watercolour card then used some REAL proper gorgeous watercolours to colour them. I've got this set of Winsor and Newton Watercolours (a gift from my generous and artistic father) and they are stunning. Once dry, I added Rock Candy Stickles and tiny sequins for some sparkle, and some die cut vellum Spring Branches.
These watercolours really are the bees knees of watercolours. :) And this colour… delicious.
If you want to read full instructions on how to make this card, you can find them HERE at Hero Arts.
That's all for today.
Bye for now.

Saw this on Hero Arts. Love the color combo in that inspiration piece and what you've created with it. Totally agree with you about the lack of true blue in the papercrafting world. Fortunately, folks have gotten on the grey bandwagon but blue is still sadly missing. Wish this flower came in a graduated dies. No Silhouette in this house, unfortunately. Enough complaining...just wanted to say how much I love your card.
Love your pretty blue (my favorite colour!) card, Lucy!
I am SO with you on this one, Lucy - why aren't we allowed to have this particular shade of blue anymore? Want to start a petition? :)))
Love your card!
Wonderful card, I too have trouble finding this beautiful blue, everything you look at has a yellow tone doesnt it. xx
Oh so pretty! Love the blue also!

That flower is amazing - love the shade of blue you have used!
Wow so pretty Lucy, off to download that flower now!!!!
Such a pretty card, Lucy. I'm also a sucker for blues ... maybe that's why I ended up in Crete LOL.
Gorgeous! And so are those watercolours :D
