Hello!
Today's the big day… it's STAMPTEMBER. Hooray. Lots of fun to be had with Simon Says Stamp this month, including an AWESOME release of stamps, dies, stencils and lots more.
One of my favourites from this release is the cool I Love Donuts stamp set. It's just too cute. So I just had to make a card with it STRAIGHT AWAY…
I have included a little photo tutorial below showing how I created my little wiggle eyed donuts. I had a "Eureka" moment when it came to making the tiny mouths… check it out below.
My donuts have a shiny and glittery glaze. Gotta love sparkly donuts. Especially ones with wiggle eyes :)
So, to make my little donut friends, here's what I did…
Stamp the donut on Simon Says Stamp's Khaki cardstock. (Once I'd assembled my donuts, I decided they needed some extra colour, so I coloured them with Copic E35).
Stamp the donut again on some Cotton Candy card stock. Add Glossy Accents to the icing then a tiny sprinkling of Star Dust glitter.
Cut the donuts out and stick the icing to the base.
Now onto the little faces. My eureka moment happened while I was trying to work out how to add a tiny mouth. I have a TON of old alphabet stickers, and I thought that maybe I could cut up a letter into a smile. While I was looking at the stickers, I realised that the middle of the letter E would make the perfect little smiley face. Hooray for using up old supplies. :) So I just coloured it in with a Sharpie and voila!
I adhered the eyes to the donut with Multi Matte Medium. I was not convinced it was going to stick - the glitter seemed like a pretty tough surface to work with - but Jennifer McGuire said it was the best, and she was right. (She's always right). :)
And here are my little guys, all smiley and happy. :)
Right, that's all for today, but make sure you head over to Simon Says Stamp and check out all the amazing new products on offer.
And come back tomorrow for some hopping fun!!!
Have a great day.

Such a fun card Lucy, love your wiggly eyed donuts!
Honestly the most adorable card this year. Those googly eyes and the innovative mouth made me roll on the floor laughing. Yes, Jennifer is always right but I'm glad about that. Your card is brilliance personified.
Who doesn't love a donut with googly eyes? I so want a donut right now. Seriously, I need a donut!!!!!
Great work!
