Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® Blog Hop

Hello, and welcome to my stop on the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® Blog Hop.
If you have arrived from the kind, generous, sweet and FABULOUS Kathy Racoosin's blog, then welcome.
If you have not, head over to the Simon Says Stamp blog to start the hop from the beginning, as there is a ton of inspiration to be had, and a whole lot of prizes to be won.

Today I am hopping along with a load of my stamping friends to celebrate Simon Says Stamp's newest release. And it's another fabulous one. I have created a set of simple Christmas cards to share with you today.
Here in the UK it has become so expensive to send mail that Christmas cards may well soon become a thing of the past. Boo hop. And bulky cards cost a lot more to mail! So while I was designing these cards, I tried to think FLAT. Stencils are brilliant for flat cards. And the lovely Swirls and Dots stencil makes a perfect focal point background. I just combined the stencil with stamps from the Peace on Earth stamp set, added a few non bulky sequins and some glitter cardstock, and voila. :)
Stencilled Christmas Card Set by Lucy Abrams
The Peace on Earth stamp set has really stunning sentiments… I LOVE it.
Stencilled Christmas Card Set 4 by Lucy Abrams
For the silver card, I used Hero Arts Silver Shadow Ink, and sponged it on with a bath sponge. :) I added  a combination of Neat and Tangled sparkly sequins and some flat silver sequins, along with silver card from THIS pad.
Stencilled Christmas Card Set 1 by Lucy Abrams
The red version uses Worn Lipstick distress ink, applied with an ink applicator tool. The glitter card is from THIS pad, and the sequins are Doodlebug and Neat and Tangled.
Stencilled Christmas Card Set 2 by Lucy Abrams
And finally, the aqua version which features Tumbled Glass Distress ink, more Doodlebug sequins, some old Kelly Purkey flat sequins and glitter card from THIS pad.
Stencilled Christmas Card Set 3 by Lucy Abrams
So simple and great for mass production. Oh, and I am pretty excited to have a head start on my Christmas cards. Yay!!
-----------------GIVEAWAY--------------
Simon Says Stamp is giving away a prize pack of a selection of items from our STAMPtember® giveaway stash at each stop on the hop! That's 19 chances to win!!
Make sure you leave a comment here before 6.00pm EST on Thursday September 11th.

And finally, it's time to HOP ON.
So head on over to the blog of the unbelievably talented
and have fun!!
Bye for now.

I am afraid Christmas cards and a lot of other card sending has already become a thing of the past in the States. I'm sure your friends would hate to miss out on your beautiful cards.

Love these cards! Postage issues are the same here in the US. It's always a challenge to make a wonderful card without 3D embellishments. But you nailed it right on the head!

Hi Lucy! I was tickled to see your name on the blog hop. I really love these cards-and they're perfect as a variation for mass-produced cards. I love this idea - thanks for sharing it! Also, if you read this - do you anchor your stitching (as in back/forward) at the beginning and end of your seam, or just sew a simple line?
