Hi.
I hope you are having a great weekend.
Today I am sharing my third teaser card for Clearly Besotted Stamps. This cute penguin is from One More Sleep, a Christmas set with adorable images. Again, I decided to make a non Christmas card with it, and paired it with a sentiment from the new Fancy Sayings set. I created an ink smooshed background with my Gansai Tambi watercolours, then stamped the sentiment, added stitching and sequins from my Phosphorescence Shaker Selection, and my sweet watercoloured penguin. I added everything to a card created with some lovely Simon Says Stamp Mint cardstock.
I just love animal stamps - and this little dude is definitely not just for Christmas.
While I was making this card, my daughter came to join me. She loves my Gansai Tambi set, and I let have a play. She stamped some trees from the One More Sleep set, then watercoloured them so beautifully and carefully. Rainbows are her preferred design style. Always. :)
Once dry, she added her own choice of embellishments, then wanted to stitch round the edges. She also adores playing with my sewing machine, and as she is such a good and careful girl, I am happy to let her experiment with lots of supervision. :) I helped her turn the corners, and she operated the pedal. The finished card is all her own work. I just trimmed it down and mounted it onto a white card base. Not bad work for a 3 3/4 year old I think - significantly better than my card! (I am such a proud Mummy.)
Although she loves to send her cards out to friends and family, I'm not actually sure we'll be sending this one… it might just have to go in a frame. I don't think I can part with it. :)
OK, I'll be back tomorrow with one more sneak peek for you before the new sets go live!
Hope you can join me then.
Bye.

Love your penguin card and your darters is amazingly good for her age - sometimes my 4.5 year old is allowed to play with my things, but not that often..... Xx
Lily's card is beautiful!! Very impressive!
Your penguin card is fabulous Lucy, love that he sequins reflect the water colour wash!
Your daughter's card is amazing - "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.."! I used to love when my daughter made cards with me too. Wait until you are all sat making cards :-)
Your little girl's card is so adorable. It's easy to see where she gets her artistic talent from. :-)
Hello Lucy:
I especially love Lily's gorgeous card! It brought back such fond memories of when my girlie was little and used to play with me and we would make things together -- so magic. Unfortunately (ONLY from the crafting point of view), she is now a 100% business-woman, with no time right now for things like this. I wish she could find the time and relax/enjoy crafting the way we fiends do, but never mind. It was such a pleasure to see Lily's card -- thank you.
Greetings from Sally in France
Gorgeous! Love both the cards!! x
The little penguin card is adorable. Always love your color choices. But the card your little one made is very special. She's really good. You must be busting your buttons in pride.
Adorable cards with my favorite medium. Sweet Lily's card is precious!!! I LOVE that you let her play with you - it is something I have treasured with my kids, and now grandkids.
Lily, I love your card and hope to use it as inspiration when my daughter and I sit down to make our cards. It is a really lovely idea and I love all the colour. Thank you. I hope you get to make lots more cards.
